The Australian rock band was formed in the year 2000. The band saw its origin in Erskineville, Sydney. Originally formed as a trio the band comprised of vocalist and guitarist Andrew Stockdale, bassist and keyboardist Chris Ross and drummer Myles Heskett. Wolfmother released their eponymous debut album in the year 2005. The album peaked at #3 on Australian ARIA Albums chart. It gained worldwide critical acclaim as well and helped the band to carve a niche in the music industry. The album went on to win J Award in the year 2005 and ARIA awards in 2006 for Best Breakthrough Album and Best Rock Album. The widely popular hit single ‘Woman’ won the band their first Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Performance in the year 2007. Their album ‘Cosmic Egg’ was released in the year 2009. The band has won a total of 9 awards and has been nominated in 25 others.
