The indie rock band was formed in Berkeley, California in the year 2000. We are Scientists are currently based in New York. The band was originally formed by drummer Keith Murray, bass guitarist Chris Cain and vocalist and guitarist Scott Lamb. The band met drummer Michael Tapper and hired him which led Keith Murray to act as the band’s vocalist and guitarist. The debut album of the band ‘Safety, Fun, and Learning (In That Order)’ was released in the year 2002. The breakthrough success of the band however happened with their second album ‘With Love and Squalor’ which was released in the year 2006. The album went on to sell over 100,000 copies in the first six months of its release. Their album ‘Brain Thrust Mastery’ which was released in 2008 charted at #11 on UK Albums chart. The album spawned two Top 40 Singles namely ‘After Hours’ and ‘Chick Lit’.
