The Polish death metal band hails from Olsztyn, Poland and was formed in the year 1983. The name of the band was inspired from the mighty and notorious villain of Star Wars series, Darth Vader. The themes and lyrics of the band’s music often encompass stories from H.P. Lovecraft’s work, WW2, anti-religious messages and horror. The band came up with their first demo titled ‘Live in Decay’ in 1986. Another demo of the band titled ‘Necrolust’ was released in the year 1989. The band became recognized and rose to international acclaim with the aid of their third demo titled ‘Morbid Reich’ which was released in the year 1990. It went on to sell 10,000 copies which is the highest selling metal demo ever. Vader’s full length debut album ‘The Ultimate Incantation’ was released in the year 1993. The band has sold over 500,000 records all across the globe ever since 2003, according to Billboard magazine.
