The American Christian metalcore band hails from Tampa, Florida. It was formed by Dallas Taylor and Luke Morton in the year 1997 in Ocala, Florida which saw addition of other members belonging to Tampa. Underoath is currently signed to Solid State Records which is a subsidiary of Tooth and Nail Records. The band saw several changes in their line up over the years. None of the band’s original founding members are currently playing for the band. However the band saw several albums like ‘Act of Depression’ in 1999, ‘Cries of the Past’ in 2000 and ‘The Changing of Times’ in 2002 under the band’s original vocalist Dallas Taylor. Spencer Chamberlain replaced Dallas Taylor after the latter departed from the band. Albums like ‘They’re Only Chasing Safety’ which was released in 2004 and ‘Define the Great Line’ in 2006 became huge commercial hits. Both the albums gained gold certifications and became highest charting Christian albums on Billboard 200 since 1997.

American Christian band Underoath were set up in 1997. Their music genre leans towards Christian metal, but they like to explain that they are not your average Christian band. Their style is definitely one of metalcore, hardcore, post-hardcore, emo and screamo.
