The English alternative rock band was founded in the year 1983. The Stone Roses were formed in Manchester, England. The band is considered to be one of the pioneering groups of Madchester movement which saw its active years during late 80s and early 90s. The most successful line up of the band comprised of vocalist Ian Brown, bassist Gary Mounfield, guitarist John Squire and drummer Alan Wren. The debut album of the band was released in the year 1989 which was titled as ‘The Stone Roses’. The album became very successful which helped the band to carve their niche in the music industry. It was their first breakthrough after which the band signed to Geffen Records in the year 1991. The band released their second album ‘Second Coming’ in the year 1994. The group disbanded in the year 1996 owing to line up changes. The band has currently reunited for a world tour.
