The American heavy metal band was formed in the year 1995. Slipknot hails from Des Moines, Iowa and was formed by percussionist Shawn Crahan and bassist Paul Gray. The band has seen several changes in their line up throughout their career. However for maximum tenure of their active years, people saw around nine members namely Sid Wilson, Paul Gray, Joey Jordison, Chris Fehn, Jim Root, Craig Jones, Shawn Crahan, Mick Thomson and Corey Taylor, performing for the band. Paul Gray died in 2010 which has left the band performing with 8 members. Slipknot is known and renowned for their aggressive style of music. They are also known for their energetic, attention-grabbing and chaotic live gigs. Their eponymous debut album was released in the year 1999 which saw them achieving unmatched mainstream success. Their follow-up album ‘Iowa’ released in the year 2001 also became very successful and increased their fan following all across the globe.
