The American hip hop group was formed in the year 1982 in Long Island, New York. The band is also famous as EP!. They are famous for incorporating politically charged lyrics and also for criticizing American media. Their active participation and interest in frustrations and concerns for African American community is quite visible in their work. Rolling Stone Magazine placed Public Enemy on #44 on the list of Immortals: 100 Greatest Artists of All Time. They were ranked #29 as the most recommended musical act of all time and as the highest hip hop group by Acclaimed Music. The band was inducted in the Long Island Music Hall of Fame in the year 2007. The current members of the band are Chuck D, hype man Flavor Flav, Professor Griff and his S1W group, DJ Lord as DJ and their music director Khari Wynn. The debut album of the band was ‘Yo! Bum Rush the Show’ which was released in the year 1987.
