The English rock band was formed in the year 1997 in Leicestershire, England. The band originally comprised of vocalist Tom Meighan, guitarist and keyboardist Christopher Karloff, occasional lead vocalist and guitarist Sergio Pizzorno and bassist Chris Edwards. The current band members are Tom, Sergio, Chris Edwards and drummer Ian Matthews. Since the departure of Christopher Karloff, Sergio has been writing the songs for the band.

The band has so far released four studio albums out of which ‘West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum’ has been a major commercial success and helped the band to earn a huge fan following all across the globe. Their album ‘Velociraptor!’ released in 2011 has also become one of the most popular albums of the band.

The band has also won several awards and nominations in different categories for their unique music. They have received three NME Awards, two Q Awards, a Brit Award and a Mojo Award so far.
