The American hard rock band is considered to be one of the most loved and successful bands of all time. Formed in Los Angeles, California in the year 1985, Guns n’ Roses shot to fame with their debut album titled ‘Appetite for Destruction’ which was released in 1987. The album peaked at #1 on Billboard 200 with the help of their single ‘Sweet Child o’ Mine’ which is their only single which made it to #1 on Billboard Top 100. Their debut album also sold over 28 million copies worldwide with around 18 million units in US alone.

Owing to the huge success of their debut album, the band released an eight song album ‘G N’ R Lies’ in 1988 which also did good business. Their twin albums ‘Use Your Illusion I’ and ‘Use Your Illusion II’ debuted at #2 and #1 on the Billboard 200 respectively.

As of 1993, the world’s greatest guitarist Slash and bassist McKagan had left the band although Guns n’ Roses continued producing hits with their latest release ‘Chinese Democracy’ in 2008.
