The American rock band hails from Chicago, Illinois and was formed in the year 1996. Originally the band was known as ‘Brawl’ which consisted of vocalist Erich Awalt, guitarist Dan Donegan, drummer Mike Wengren and bassist Steve Fuzz Kmak. The band hired David Draiman as the singer to complete their line up. The band was renamed ‘Disturbed’ after suggestions from David.

After signing a contract with Giant Records the band came up with their full length debut album titled ‘The Sickness’ in the year 2000 which became a huge hit. Their album peaked at #29 on the Billboard 200 and sold over four million copies in US. Disturbed went on to release five studio albums four of which debuted at #1 on the Billboard.

Since the band was formed, they have sold more than 13 million albums all across the globe. Disturbed is considered to be the most successful and largest grossing metal/rock bands of all time.
The band went into a hiatus in 2011.
