The band was a six piece band which was formed in the year 2006 in Glasgow, Scotland. They had self- dubbed themselves as ‘Fight Pop’. The band’s name was inspired by a play by the name of Canadian Actor Dan Aykroyd. The band called it quits in 2011.

During their active years the band came up with two albums, 7 singles and two EPs.
Dananananaykroyd released a 7” single titled ‘Totally Bone’ through Moshi Moshi record label in 2006. They also came up with another limited edition 7” single titled ‘Some Dresses’ which was released through Jealous Records in the same year.

The band later signed to Best Before Records and came up with their first full length album titled ‘Hey Everyone!’ in 2009. The band did many tours and played with bands like Foals and Queens of the Stone Age in order to promote their music. The band came up with their second album ‘There Is a Way’ in 2011
