Coheed and Cambria is an American progressive rock band which was formed in the year 1995 in Nyack, New York. The band plays on various genres including progressive rock, punk rock, metal and post-hardcore.
Coheed and Cambria are known for making concept albums which reveal a science fiction storyline. Almost all of their albums run a parallel science fiction story of ‘The Amory Wars’, which is written by none other than the lead singer Claudio Sanchez himself. The story has also been transcribed into a comic series and a full length novel.
The band has released around five studio albums, three live albums and many special edition releases so far.
The band has also received various awards like MTVU Woodie, Metal Hammer, Kerrang and MTV Musical March Madness awards.
