The Finnish heavy metal band is famous for incorporating various musical styles in their songs which has caused critics and fans to label them as melodic death metal, black metal, thrash metal and power metal.

The band was formed in Espoo, Finland in the year 1993 by guitarist Alexi Laiho and drummer Jaska under the name ‘Inearthed’.

Their album ‘Follow the Reaper’ which was released in the year 2000 was their first album to receive a Gold Certification in Finland. After that all the seven studio albums of the band have reached gold certification.
The band released three consecutive albums which topped the Finnish album charts. Several of their albums have also reached the Billboard 200 chart as well.
