The Canadian hardcore punk rock band hails from Toronto, Ontario. Cancer Bats originated in the year 2004. Vocalist Liam Cormier and guitarist Scott Middleton used to perform for their previous heavy metal band ‘At the Mercy of Inspiration’.

Cancer Bats saw their first demo release in the year 2005, then later came up with their debut studio album titled ‘Birthing the Giant’ which was released in the year 2006. The band’s second album ‘Hail Destroyer’ was released in 2008. The band cracked the UK Albums chart with their third venture ‘Bears, Mayors, Scraps & Bones’ in 2010.

The band has, so far, released four studio albums and six EPs. The band currently consists of vocalist Liam Cormier, guitarist Scott Middleton, bassist Jaye R. Schwarzer and drummer Mike Peters. The band often incorporates elements of sludge metal and southern rock into their music.
Cancer Bats have also done several EPs, compilations and splits so far.
