The Welsh heavy metal band, Bullet For My Valentine, hails from Bridgend and was formed in the year 1998. The band was earlier formed under the name ‘Jeff Killed John’, but were forced to change their name owing to financial problems. They started their career by covering songs of Metallica and Nirvana in the beginning.

Bullet For My Valentine was lucky to sign a five album deal in the year 2002 with Sony BMG. Their debut album ‘Poison’ was released in the year 2005 in the UK and on Feb 14, 2006 in the US to justify the band’s name by coinciding the date with Valentine’s Day. Bullet For My Valentine have been very successful ever since then, and went on to release two more albums in 2008 and 2010 titled ‘Scream Aim Fire’ and ‘Fever’. Fever peaked at #3 on Billboard 200.
