Bowling for Soup band was originally formed in Wichita Falls, Texas in the year 1994. The band is also famous with their abbreviated name BFS. The American pop punk band is now based in Denton, Texas which covers pop punk, punk rock, alternative rock and power pop genres. The name of the band has been inspired from a comedy act by Steve Martin.

Jaret Riddick who is the lead vocalist and guitarist of the group formed ‘Bowling for Soup’ with lead guitarist/backing vocalist Chris Burney, bass guitarist/backing vocalist Erik Chandler and drummer/percussionist Lance Morrill. Morrill however amicably left the band in 1998 allowing Gary Wiseman of ‘Gary and the Wisemen’ to fill the position.

The band became more famous with their exceptional singles titled ‘Girl All the Bad Guys Want’, ‘Almost’, ‘Punk Rock 101’, ‘High School Never Ends’ and ‘1985’. Their single ‘Girl All the Bad Guys Want’ was nominated for a Grammy Award in the year 2003.
