The American heavy metal band hails from Orange County, California. The band was formed in the year 1999 in Woodlake, California. The band is known for incorporating modern hardcore punk, symphonic black metal and melodic death metal in their works.

The lead vocalist Brendan Schieppati considers the band to be hardcore though the band is often labeled as metalcore.
The current members of the heavy metal band are lead vocalist Brandan Schieppati, guitarist Brian Leppke, drummer Derek Youngsma, bassist Ryan Wombacher, keyboardist Marta Peterson and guitarist Dave Nassi.

The band released their first full length album in the year 2001 which was entitled as ‘Dust to Ashes’ under Prime Directive Records. It was only after the release of their third album titled ‘This is Love, This is Murderous’ in the year 2003 that the band came into the limelight. Their fourth album ‘The Truth’ released in the year 2006 peaked at #48 on Billboard 200.
