Black Sabbath is an English rock band which was formed in the year 1969 in Aston, Birmingham in UK by the legendary lead vocalist Ozzy Osbourne, guitarist Tony Lommi, bass guitarist Geezer Butler and drummer Bill Ward. Since their formation the band has perceived multiple line-up changes however Tony Lommi has been the only constant original member of the band who stayed with the band.
The band was originally formed as a heavy blues rock band in the year 1968 and was named ‘Earth’. They renamed the band to ‘Black Sabbath’ and started including occult and horror inspired lyrics for emphasis.
Black Sabbath celebrates their worldwide recognition and status as the ‘Greatest Metal Band’ ever with more than 70 million records sold all across the world.
