Black Label Society is a heavy metal band which was formed by lead vocalist/guitarist/pianist and keyboardist Zakk Wylde. Zakk Wylde has often changed the line up many times depending upon the requirement of the band.

The band celebrates their success with nine studio albums, one live album, one EP, two compilation albums and three video albums.

An acoustic solo album entitled ‘Book of Shadows’ was released by Wylde in 1996 which did not do well commercially. Wylde and drummer Phil Ondich went on to release the band’s first album titled ‘Sonic Brew’ under the Spitfire label. It was then decided that they would form a long term band instead of following solo albums for Wylde.

The band released their second album ‘Stronger than Death’ which received good feedback from the public. It was only after ‘The Blessed Hellride’ that the band was able to crack the US charts. ‘Order of the Black’ which was released in 2010 made it to #4 on the Billboard 200.
