The English post-punk band was formed in the year 1978 in Notting Hill, London, England. The only constant members of the band are the band’s founding members namely vocalist/keyboardist Jaz Coleman and guitarist Geordie Walker.

Earlier the band used to simply concentrate on industrial rock and metal genre although, over the years, the band has also incorporated several other music genres in their work like electronic music, post- punk, synth-pop, gothic rock, new wave, alternative rock and heavy metal.

The band is also famous for influencing several bands and artists over the years with their quality music. Though the band has earned modest commercial success, so far, they have been successful in earning amazing fan following over the years.

The band’s eponymous debut album came out in the year 1980 which was followed by several tours.
The band went on an extended hiatus after their ‘Democracy’ tour in 1996 and reunited again in 2002.
