The American heavy metal band hails from Oakland, California and was formed in the year 1991 by lead vocalist and guitarist Rob Flynn and bass guitarist and backing vocalist Adam Duce who are still the band’s current members. The band saw various changes in the line-up however they have finally settled with the addition of lead guitarist and rhythm guitarist Phil Demmel and drummer Dave McClain. The band is considered to be one of the pioneering bands in the New Wave of American Heavy Metal. The band generally incorporates thrash metal, heavy metal and groove metal in their music. Machine Head’s debut album titled ‘Burn My Eyes’ became a huge success in Europe when it was released in 1994. The band almost disbanded in 2002 when they became a part of controversy for their song ‘Crashing Around You’ whose music video manifested burning buildings. The band broke off its label Roadrunner Records the same year although later they renegotiated and signed Roadrunner again and came up with three more albums.
